Ibrahim Gusau, the President of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), recently paid a visit to Moses Simon in Nantes, France, where the Super Eagles winger is recuperating from injury. The purpose of Gusau’s visit was to inquire about Simon’s progress following surgery.
Simon sustained an injury while on international duty with the Super Eagles during a match against Mali. Subsequent medical examinations revealed that the FC Nantes winger had suffered a fractured fibula, necessitating surgical intervention.
As a result, he has been sidelined for approximately three months. Amidst his recovery in Nantes, the Nigerian Football Federation President took the opportunity to check on Simon’s well-being.
Following the visit, Gusau shared the news on his social media platforms, including Instagram, where he posted a photo of himself alongside Moses Simon.
In his caption, Gusau expressed his purpose for the visit, stating, “A visit to Moïse Simon today in Nantes, France, to see how he is recovering from his injury.” Simon, in response, expressed gratitude for the visit, commenting, “Thank you for coming, president,” on his own Instagram page.
While Simon focuses on his recovery, he will be unavailable for selection for the Super Eagles during the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers in June.
Nigeria is set to face South Africa and Benin in the third and fourth rounds of the qualifiers, respectively. Despite his absence, Simon’s dedication to his rehabilitation remains unwavering, with hopes for a swift and successful return to the pitch.
