Paul Pogba, the 21-year-old French midfielder of Guinean origin, has faced both triumph and criticism throughout his career. Recently crowned Italian champion with Juventus, Pogba opened up about the challenges he has faced and the criticism he has received in an interview with L’Equipe.
“It’s hard, you want to do well, but sometimes you can’t. I wasn’t feeling well, and it was a really difficult time. I doubted myself,” he shared.
Known for his technical prowess and ball control, Pogba’s style of play has been perceived by some as too relaxed or complacent. Addressing these criticisms, he said, “My football is a bit like that: calm, without pressure, at ease. Even when things aren’t going well, I play the same way. Critics will always have something to say. I try not to listen too much, but sometimes it gets to me. I want to play my football, and if I continue doing so, maybe I’ll change their perspective in the next match. That’s football, and I accept it.”
Having had a stellar season with Juventus, Pogba is now focused on the upcoming World Cup with the French national team. A dream he has cherished since childhood, Pogba is determined to shine for the Blues and bring back the coveted trophy.
