The president of the South African Football Association (SAFA), Kirsten Nematandani, and four other senior officials have been sanctioned following a FIFA report on match-fixing. They were involved in a scandal related to fixing four friendly matches played in South Africa before the 2010 World Cup. The matches against Thailand, Bulgaria, Colombia, and Guatemala were found to be pre-arranged in favor of an Asian betting syndicate. Nematandani and the four directors of SAFA, including Dennis Mumble, have been dismissed from their positions.
