The Congo national team, known as the Red Devils, faces challenges in finalizing their squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations qualifying match against Namibia.
Several professional players have failed to answer the call from head coach Claude Le Roy, prompting him to include players from the local league to fill the gaps. Notably, players from AC Léopard de Dolisie, whose Confederation Cup match was also postponed, have been called up.
Key players like Prince Oniangue from Reims, Igor Nganga, and Francis Litsingi, who has scored 12 goals in the Swiss league, will join the team for the return match in Congo.
Le Roy can rely on approximately ten players from the diaspora, including Fabrice Nguessi Ondama from Wydad de Casablanca, Maêl Lépicier from Antwerp, Christopher Mafoumbi from RC Lens, and Delvin Chanel Ndinga from Olympiakos.
Additionally, two players will celebrate their debut for the national team: Allan Kimbaloula, a French-born attacking midfielder with Congolese and Cameroonian heritage playing in Estonia, and Baudry Marvin, a defender from Amiens.
The match is scheduled for this Saturday at the Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek, kicking off at 4 p.m. local time.
