Pape Souaré’s availability for Lille’s crucial Ligue 1 match against Lorient this Saturday remains uncertain. The Senegalese international is dealing with a minor thigh issue, casting doubt over his participation in the 38th day of the championship.
Lille’s coach, René Girard, provided an update on the team’s injury situation, stating on the club’s official website, “Pape Souaré, who has been experiencing some thigh discomfort, appears to be improving. The rest of the squad is available, except for Marvin Martin, who is suspended.”
Lille is currently in a tight race to maintain their 3rd place in the standings. A recent 1-3 defeat to PSG has made the competition for the podium even more intense. With just a two-point lead over Saint-Étienne, who are in good form, Lille needs a win against Lorient to secure their spot in the Champions League preliminary round.
