Vahid Halilhodzic’s tenure as the head coach of the Algerian national team is set to conclude after the 2014 World Cup. Despite initial indications of an amicable relationship with Mohamed Raouraoua, the president of the Algerian Football Federation, tensions between Halilhodzic and the federation have strained their ties. Halilhodzic acknowledged the rift, stating, “We had disagreements with Mohamed Raouraoua, but ultimately, we achieved great things together.”
According to reports from France Football, the former coach of Lille and PSG is on the verge of joining Trabzonspor, currently ranked 5th in the Turkish Championship. Halilhodzic has previous experience with the club, having coached them during the 2005-2006 season. Backed by substantial financial resources, Trabzonspor is aiming to secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season. Turkish club officials believe that Halilhodzic possesses the necessary skills to accomplish this objective.
