The first legs of the 2nd round of the 2015 Junior CAN qualifiers took place over the weekend, with teams vying for a spot in next year’s tournament in Senegal. Several teams seized the opportunity to establish a strong foothold in their respective ties.
Mali, Zambia, and Ghana all secured impressive away victories on Saturday, defeating Burkina Faso (0-3), Mozambique (0-2), and Sierra Leone (0-2) respectively.
On Sunday, Nigeria continued the trend of away wins with a 2-0 triumph over Tanzania. Congo managed to edge out Benin 2-1 at home, keeping their qualification hopes alive. Libya and Tunisia settled for a 1-1 draw.
However, Togo suffered a setback at home, falling 0-2 to Morocco with goals from Achaoui and Jaadi.
The return legs are scheduled for the weekend of May 23-25.
