Morocco international Yunis Abdelhamid have joined AS FAR Rabat in the ongoing transfer window after Saint Etienne exit.

The 37-year-old defender is joining the Moroccan club as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with the French club.

Abdelhamid signed one season contract with Saint Etienne back in July 2024, making only 16 appearances in the French Ligue 1 last term. Meanwhile, in all competitive, the centre-back racked up 18 appearances.

Saint Etienne suffered relegation at the end of the campaign after finishing 17th spot and accumulating 30 points.

Abdelhamid has spent a chunk of playing career in France, featuring for Dijon, Stade Reims, Valenciennes, AC Arles-Avignon and others.

His return to Morocco is refreshing, considering his level as a professional footballer who can add some bite to the Moroccan league.
