In the World Athletics Championships in Moscow, four African athletes have qualified for the women’s 3000m steeplechase final. The Moroccan Salima El Ouali secured her spot with a first-place finish in the qualifying series, clocking a time of 9:39.95. Kenyan athletes Milcah Chemos (1st place, 9:36.16) and Hyvin Kiyeng Jepkemoi (2nd place, 9:36.19), along with Ethiopian Sofia Assefa (9:36.66), also advanced to the final. Unfortunately, the other Moroccan participant, Bouaasayriya Kltoum, did not make it to the final. The final is scheduled for Tuesday, August 13.
