Union Saint-Gilloise forward Mohammed Fuseini has expressed strong belief in Ghana’s chances of securing a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following consecutive wins over Chad and Madagascar in March during Matchday 5 and 6 of the qualifiers, the Black Stars currently sit atop Group I with 15 points. The team is set to resume action in September with fixtures against Mali and Chad.
Fuseini, who is hopeful of earning more national team call-ups, believes Ghana has what it takes to make it to the global showpiece, which will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
“I think it’s possible because the coaches, I think, they know what I can bring to the team. I just have to be ready and then perform in my club, and then we take it from there,” he told Flashscore.
Despite his recent rise, the 22-year-old remains focused on self-improvement.
“For me, I want to improve on a lot of things, like making sure I’m more fit, no more injuries and then I stay fit throughout the season.
“Also, I want to improve on my goal-scoring abilities and my skills taking players on in 1v1s,” he added.
Fuseini made his senior debut for Ghana in the Unity Cup match against Trinidad and Tobago in London, adding to his growing international experience.
Ghana will conclude their World Cup qualifying campaign in October with matches against Comoros and the Central African Republic.
