Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has announced a 23-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar.
As part of the Matchday five and six fixtures, Ghana will take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025. The team will then travel to Morocco to face Madagascar in another Group I encounter on Monday, March 24, 2025.
Leading the squad will be Jordan Ayew, who has been named captain as Ghana pushes for a fifth appearance at the World Cup.
Arsenal midfielder and deputy captain Thomas Partey makes his return after missing four of last year’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers due to injury.
The squad also features three Ghana Premier League players: Benjamin Asare from Accra Hearts of Oak, Kamaradini Mamudu from Medeama SC, and Razak Simpson from Nations FC.
Notable call-ups include Kamal Deen Sulemana of Southampton FC and Jerry Afriyie of CD Lugo. Additionally, Christopher Bonsu Baah, who plays for Belgian club Genk, has earned a place in the squad.
The Black Stars will assemble for training on Monday, March 17, 2025.
Ghana currently sits second in Group I with nine points from four matches, level with Comoros after securing three wins and one defeat.
