Head coach of South Africa, Hugo Broos have announced his preliminary squad for the final round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Bafana Bafana returns to action in October for the crucial qualifying games against Zimbabwe and Rwanda, with victories in both games crucial to securing them a ticket to the biggest soccer mundial to be staged in the USA, Canada and Mexico next year.

South Africa are currently on top of Group C, accumulating 17 points after eight matches into the qualification series. Hugo Broos’ outfit faces a disciplinary action from FIFA over the eligibility of midfielder Teboho Mokoena.

However, the Bafana Bafana will have to approach the final round of games with all seriousness in order to grind results.

Few weeks to the qualifiers, the Belgium tactician has unveiled his provisional lists for the double-header, with notable players such as, goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, Jayden Adams, Oswin Appollis, Sipho Mbule, Evidence Makgopa and Relebohile Mofokeng making the cut for the crucial games.

South Africa will travel to face Zimbabwe on October 6 before hosting Rwanda on October 13, 2025.
