2026 World Cup qualifiers: Peter Shalulile hat-trick fires Namibia past São Tomé and Príncipe
Peter Shalulile lit up the Francistown Stadium with a ruthless hat-trick as Namibia brushed aside São Tomé and Príncipe 3-0 in the CAF 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The forward struck first just before halftime, pouncing on a David Ndeunyema pass in the 41st minute to calm Namibian nerves. After the break, Shalulile’s hunger only grew. He doubled the lead in the 67th minute from close range after a smart assist by Riaan Hanamub. Four minutes later, he sealed his treble with another clinical finish, this time fed by Deon Hotto, sending Namibian fans into wild celebration.
São Tomé fought hard but lacked the cutting edge to trouble Namibia’s backline. With no points after eight games, their campaign looks all but over. Namibia, meanwhile, climbed to second in Group H with 15 points, keeping their World Cup dream very much alive.
The Brave Warriors will meet São Tomé again on October 6, while the islanders face a daunting test against group leaders Tunisia.
