The head coach of Mali, Tom Saintfiet, is confident his team has what it takes to beat Ghana in their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The coach and his side are currently in Ghana and will face the Black Stars on Monday, September 8.

Speaking ahead of the match, Tom Saintfiet admitted that his team will be facing a tough opponent, adding that he believes the Black Stars are the best side in the group.

Despite the respect for the opponent, Tom Saintfiet is confident Mali will make history by overcoming Ghana.

“Ghana is the best team in our group. They are 4 points ahead of us, but we are here to make history and win here,” he said.

Coach Tom Saintfiet added, “We will make everything possible to qualify for the World Cup.”

The crucial Group I showdown between Ghana and Mali on Monday kicks off at 19:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
