The Black Stars of Ghana made another big statement in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on Monday, March 24, with a massive win against Madagascar.
The Ghana national team went into today’s Round 6 game in Group I full of confidence, especially after securing a resounding 5-0 win against Chad last Friday.
In the encounter against Madagascar, the Black Stars set up with a strong squad and needed just 11 minutes to break the deadlock of the contest.
Captain Jordan Ayew delivered a stunning cross that found Thomas Partey in the area of Madagascar. The Arsenal man thumped his header into the back of the net, stunning the host in the process.
That goal separated the two teams at halftime before the Black Stars scored twice after recess.
Jordan Ayew set up Thomas Partey for the second goal in the 54th minute, this time from a well-delivered corner kick.
Four minutes after that goal, Jordan Ayew sent Mohammed Kudus through on goal with an intelligent through ball. The West Ham United star scored to make it 3-0 for the Black Stars.
With Madagascar unable to turn things around, the Black Stars continued to dominate the game to secure all three points at the end of a 3-0 triumph.
Ghana after today’s win remains top of the Group I standings with 15 points, five more than Madagascar in second.
