Ghana coach Otto Addo has admitted that his side faces a challenging encounter against Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars will take on the Barea tonight at the Al Hoceima Grand Stadium in a crucial Matchday Six fixture. Kick-off is set for 19:00 GMT.
Speaking to the Ghana FA media ahead of the clash, Addo acknowledged Madagascar’s recent form and the difficulty of the task ahead, despite Ghana’s commanding 5-0 victory over Chad in Accra last Friday.
“We observed the Madagascar team and they have done really, really well, especially in the last game, so they are in good form and it’s going to be a tough game,” the 49-year-old gaffer stated.
Ghana’s dominant win over Chad propelled them to the top of Group I with 12 points, maintaining a two-point cushion over second-placed Madagascar.
The four-time African champions are determined to secure their fifth World Cup appearance as they aim for a spot in the 2026 tournament, set to be co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
