2026 World Cup: Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi admits facing Brazil will be tough
Morocco coach Mohamed Ouahbi has declared his respect for the strength of the Brazil national football team, calling them unmatched as Morocco prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Following Morocco’s 2-1 friendly victory over Paraguay in Lens, Ouahbi reflected on the upcoming Group C clash that will see Morocco face Brazil, Haiti, and Scotland. Speaking candidly, he highlighted Brazil’s exceptional quality and how it shapes Morocco’s preparation strategy.
“There is no team in the world like Brazil, and when you want to prepare to face them, the best solution is to play against their second team,” Ouahbi said.
He explained that facing strong, technically skilled opponents such as Ecuador and Paraguay in friendlies is part of the plan to simulate the aggression, intensity, and tactical challenges that Brazil is likely to present.
Ouahbi added, “I didn’t set the schedule for the friendly matches, but I was happy to play against two teams, each with a different style, but they share the characteristics of aggression, intensity, and technical quality. This helps us prepare for all the teams in the group, including Brazil and Scotland.”
The Moroccan coach’s comments underline the level of respect and caution he is placing on Morocco’s World Cup preparations, showing that the Atlas Lions are focused on studying their most formidable opponents rather than external controversies.
