The new head coach of Tunisia, Sami Trabelsi has indicated that his team will aim for wins against Liberia and Malawi in the next round of games in the qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The gaffer speaking at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Tunisian Federation emphatically stated that his priority is to ensure Tunisia secures qualification for the next World Cup.
He has put his job on the line, noting that he will resign if Tunisia fails to qualify for the Mundial.
“I will leave the national team if we fail to reach the 2026 World Cup. The duration of my contract with the Tunisian national team is not important to me, even if I sign a contract until 2030. Qualifying for the 2026 World Cup will determine my future with the Carthage Eagles,” Sami Trabelsi said.
Next month, Tunisia will play against Liberia away on March 17 before hosting Malawi on March 24.
Currently, on top of Group H, two wins from the upcoming game will edge Sami Trabelsi’s side closer to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
