Ivory Coast cemented their dominance in Group F, powering past Seychelles with a stunning 7-0 victory at the Cote d’Or National Sports Complex in Mauritius.
From the first whistle, the group leaders showcased their superiority, opening the scoring in just the 7th minute through Ibrahim Sangaré’s penalty. By halftime, the Elephants had already built an insurmountable 4-0 advantage thanks to goals from Agbadou, Diakité, and Guessand.
Seychelles, the group’s bottom side, struggled to contain a vibrant Ivorian attack in the second half. The floodgates opened further as Diomande, Adingra, and Franck Kessié each struck, sealing one of the biggest wins of the qualifiers.
Ivory Coast remain firmly atop Group F, their goal difference and points tally reflecting a team destined for the World Cup. With 23 points and zero defeats, they next face Kenya on October 14, where another win could mathematically confirm their ticket to the finals. Meanwhile, Seychelles will look to restore pride against Gambia in their upcoming tie.
