Ghana U20 defender Aaron Essel has indicated that the team is ready to give everything to defeat Egypt’s U20 team in the quarter-finals of the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The Black Satellites are scheduled to face off with the host nation on Monday, May 12, in one of the four quarter-final matches.
Speaking in a pre-match interview, Ghana defender Aaron Essel said the team has prepared well and is focused on giving everything on the matchday to secure a win against Egypt.
“Preparations have been very good. The entire team is focused, and we’re ready to give our best on the field,” the defender said.
Essel continued, “For us, this is a final. The field will decide which team emerges victorious, and we are determined to make sure it’s Ghana. We’re sticking to the game plan laid out by Coach Desmond Ofei and the technical team. Everyone knows what’s at stake.”
Monday’s quarter-final clash between Ghana and Egypt is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at the Suez Stadium.
