The head coach of Morocco’s U20 national team, Mohamed Ouahbi, has rallied his players to give everything against South Africa’s U20 in the final of the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Speaking ahead of the crunch final, the coach said his team has come a long way since the start of the U20 AFCON, but must finish by winning the trophy to prove they are the best at the U20 level.
“We’ve come a long way. But we must now prove that we are the best. That’s what finals are for,” Morocco U-20 head coach Mohamed Ouahbi said as quoted by CAFOnline.
Meanwhile, Coach Mohamed Ouahbi has described South Africa as a side with a great quality, insisting that his team has a lot of respect for them.
He is expecting a tough challenge from the opponent in the final.
“The most important match has not yet been played. The final is still ahead, and it will be against a South African team that has shown great quality throughout the tournament.
“We have a lot of respect for the South African team. They’re strong, organised, and they don’t give anything away easily. We’ll celebrate tonight, but then we rest, recover, and plan carefully for the biggest match of our lives,” the Morocco coach said.
The final of the U20 AFCON between Morocco and South Africa is scheduled to kick off at 6 pm at Cairo International Stadium.
