Morocco’s Houssam Essadak has been named Man of the Match after helping his country to beat Egypt in the semi-finals of the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Courtesy of the win, Morocco has booked a place in the finals of the ongoing tournament in Egypt and will face off with South Africa to battle for the ultimate prize.
On the matchday, Houssam Essadak started the contest and put up a fantastic effort to ensure his team earned the important win.
Morocco dominated in terms of possession and shots at goal but could not find the back of the net in the first half, with Egypt’s defense standing strong.
However, in the second half, Morocco finally breached the Egyptian defense in the 77th minute.
Ismael Aouad set up Jones El Abdellaoui to score the only goal of the match to break the hearts of the hosts.
After his impactful performance throughout the 90 minutes, Houssam Essadak has been named Man of the Match.
