Ghana U20 head coach Desmond Ofei heaped praise on his players on Monday evening after their win against Senegal’s U20 national team in the 2025 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
Speaking in his post-match interview, coach Ofei said his players followed his game plan to the later to earn all three points from what was a tough game against the defending champions.
“It was a very difficult game, no doubt about that. But tactically, I believe we got it right. Senegal came at us with a very direct and physical approach. It wasn’t easy, but our players showed great tactical discipline and fighting spirit throughout the game.
“The boys followed the game plan, stayed organized, and gave everything on the pitch. That’s all you can ask for as a coach,” Coach Desmond Ofei said as quoted on the Ghana FA website.
In their final Group C game at the 2025 U20 AFCON, Ghana will take on Central African Republic on May 8.
