Morocco are gearing up for their opening match at the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup later today.

Drawn in a challenging Group C alongside Spain, Mexico, and Brazil, the North Africans face a daunting task but will be eager to start their journey on a positive note.

A victory would not only boost their confidence but also lift African hopes following Egypt’s disappointing start.

On Saturday, Egypt fell 2-0 to Japan in their opening fixture at the same venue, with Rion Ichihara and Hisatsugu Ishii scoring to secure all three points for the Asian side.

Japan dominated proceedings, restricting the young Pharaohs to just a single shot on target across 90 minutes.

After Egypt’s opening defeat, they will quickly shift attention to their next group stage match against New Zealand on Tuesday, also at the Estadio Nacional.

Meanwhile, today’s encounter between Morocco and Spain will kick off at 8 pm.
