Egyptian defender Yasser Ibrahim is a doubt for Al Ahly’s last Group A match at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup against FC Porto next week.
According to information gathered in the build-up to the encounter, Yasser Ibrahim has suffered a strained adductor muscle injury and is not expected to recover in time for the next game.
Ibrahim sustained the injury during a recent training session, with Al Ahly’s first-team doctor, Ahmed Gaballah, confirming the setback. “Yasser Ibrahim is experiencing adductor muscle pain,” Gaballah revealed, adding that the player would need time to heal.
Al Ahly began their Club World Cup campaign with a goalless draw against Inter Miami, a match in which they missed a crucial penalty that could have secured all three points. They then suffered a 2-0 defeat to Brazilian side Palmeiras in their second group game.
Group A features Al Ahly alongside Inter Miami, FC Porto, and Palmeiras. Al Ahly’s next match against FC Porto will be played on Tuesday, June 24, at MetLife Stadium.
