Al Ahly attacker Ahmed Sayed Zizo has opened up about the match against Palmeiras at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
According to the Egyptian, the game against the Brazilians in their second Group A game at the tournament was very difficult.
The match played at the MetLife Stadium ended with Al Ahly losing 2-0 to Palmeiras.
Speaking to MBC Masr 2, Zizo said, “Al-Ahly fans have the right to be upset. The Palmeiras match was very difficult, but that is no excuse and there is no reason for us to say so.
“God willing, we will fight in the next match against Porto, and we have a chance to qualify for the next round.”
He added, “There was no reason for us to retreat in the second half, but this is football. A goal that came from a mistake went against the flow of the game completely. I have nothing else to say except that we will prepare well for the next match.
“We certainly haven’t lost hope, and God willing, we’ll play with even more focus and be successful. The players are giving 200%.”
The match between Al Ahly and FC Porto will be played on Tuesday, June 24.
