Moroccan forward Brahim Diaz impressed with an assist to help Real Madrid defeat Pachuca 3-1 in their second game at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The attacker started the match on the bench but came on at halftime to replace Fran Garcia.
With the chance to make an impact off the bench, Brahim Diaz put up a good performance to ensure Real Madrid earned all three points.
The match had a dramatic start when Raul Asencio was shown a red card in the sixth minute for a reckless foul, leaving Madrid a man down early on. Despite the setback, they soon took the lead.
In the 35th minute, Fran Garcia set up Jude Bellingham, who calmly finished into the bottom corner to open the scoring.
Real Madrid doubled their advantage in the 43rd minute when Arda Guler found the net after a clever pass from Gonzalo Garcia.
Diaz then made his mark in the second half, delivering a perfectly lofted pass that allowed Federico Valverde to fire home Madrid’s third goal in the 70th minute.
Pachuca managed to pull one back in the 80th minute through Elias Montiel, whose deflected shot left Thibaut Courtois with no chance, but it was too little, too late as Real Madrid comfortably claimed victory.
The win has propelled Brahim Diaz and his Real Madrid side to go top of Group H at the tournament.
