Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou has been named among the ten finalists for the prestigious 2025 Yachine Trophy, an annual award presented to the world’s best goalkeeper by France Football.
Currently plying his trade with Saudi giants Al Hilal, Bounou earned his spot on the shortlist following a stellar season, highlighted by his standout performances at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States, where he was named in the Team of the Tournament.
His consistent displays have also solidified his status as a key figure for Morocco’s national team.
The shortlist includes some of the game’s top goalkeepers: Thibaut Courtois (Belgium), Emiliano Martínez (Argentina), Brazilians Alisson Becker and Ederson Moraes, Gianluigi Donnarumma (Italy), Mike Maignan (France), David Raya (Spain), Gregor Kobel (Switzerland), and Andrei Lunev (Germany).
The winner of the Yachine Trophy will be revealed during the Ballon d’Or awards ceremony, scheduled for September 22 in Paris.
