The women’s national team of Algeria has temporarily taken the top spot in the Group B standings of the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
This follows the team’s goalless stalemate against the women’s national team of Tunisia on Thursday, July 10.
In the game played at Stade Pere-Jego in Casablanca, both Algeria and Tunisia put up an impressive fight, but neither side could find the back of the net in the entire 90 minutes.
With the points shared one apiece, Algeria is now on four points and has temporarily gone top of the Group B standings at the tournament.
The situation could change later tonight if Nigeria manages to beat Botswana in the other Group B match of the day.
Meanwhile, Tunisia, after playing two matches at the 2024 WAFCON, only has one point and sits third in the group standings.
Botswana, without a point, remain bottom of the Group B table
