2024 CHAN: Benni McCarthy’s Kenya take home $450,000 after quarterfinal exit

The Harambee Stars of Kenya will take home $450,000 after exiting at the quarterfinal in the ongoing 2024 CHAN tournament.

Benni McCarthy and his side’s impressive campaign came to a halt in the last eight after losing to Madagascar in the quarter-finals on Friday night.

The South African trainer managed to guide the team out of the so-called ‘Group of Death’, which includes record winners Democratic Republic of Congo and Morocco.

While the team have bid farewell to the tournament, they have managed to secure $450,000 for reaching the quarter-final round.

The winner of the tournament will take home $3.5 million.

Meanwhile, the semifinal games will see Sudan clash with Madagascar at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam, while Senegal face Morocco at the Mandela National Stadium, Kampala, all on Tuesday, August 26.

The winners will advance to the final on Saturday, 30 August, in what is shaping up to be one of the most memorable editions of CHAN in the competition’s history.
