Comoros coach Amir Abdou has revealed his squad for the opening matches of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, with the team set to face Togo and Egypt.
The selected group features familiar faces, including goalkeeper Youssouf Ahamada, defender Kassim Abdallah, and forwards Ahmed Mogni Selemani and El Fardou. These key players will be central to Comoros’ plans as the team looks to make an impact in its qualifying campaign.
Beyond on-field preparation, the national team faces the broader challenge of uniting local football stakeholders. This effort comes in the wake of the establishment of a Normalisation Committee at the Comoros Football Federation (FFC), with the aim of strengthening football governance and fostering collaboration across the domestic game.
Comoros will begin its qualifiers on November 14 with an away match in Lomé against Togo, before hosting Egypt on November 18 at their new home ground, the Malouzini Stadium. The team will be hoping to leverage both experience and renewed domestic support to compete effectively in these crucial fixtures.
