With just two weeks remaining before the start of the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France (June 7 to July 7), Cameroon has finalized its 23-player squad for the tournament. Coach Alain Djeumfa waited for the arrival of the last players from his 26-man provisional squad—Aboudi Onguene, Gaelle Enganamouit, and Siliki Edjangue—before announcing the final selections. The squad features few major changes, blending returning veterans with a handful of new faces.
Fifteen of the 23 Lionesses were part of Cameroon’s team that reached the Round of 16 at the 2015 World Cup, while 19 competed in the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations in Ghana. Among the three dual nationals initially called up, only Estelle Johnson (defender) and Michaela Abam (forward) made the final squad, while Montpellier’s Easther Mayi Kits was left out. Notable returns include Ysis Sonkeng of Amazone Fap, who rejoins the squad after nearly three years, and first-time World Cup participants Charlène Meyong and Marlyse Ngo Ndoumbouck.
The Cameroonian squad is currently completing preparations in Spain, training in Murcia after an extended period in Cameroon. The players are focusing on refining tactics, improving cohesion, and adjusting to match intensity ahead of the World Cup opener.
The final 23-player roster for Cameroon is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Annette Ngo Ndom (Amazones FAP/Cameroon), Marthe Omgmaham (Awa Girls FC/Cameroon), Mambingo Mambingo Isabelle (Sunshine Queens/Nigeria)
Defenders: Christine Mani (AS Lorraine/France), Marie Awona (Dijon/France), Augustine Edjangue Siliki (Arna Bjornar/Norway), Claudine Meffometou Tcheno (Guingamp/France), Yvonne Leuko Chibosso (Strasbourg/France), Estelle Laura Johnson (Sky Blue FC/USA), Ysis Sonkeng (Amazones FAP/Cameroon)
Midfielders: Raissa Feudjio (Tenerife/Spain), Genevieve Ngo Mbeleck (Amazones FAP/Cameroon), Jeannette Ngock Yango (US Saint Malo/France), Marlyse Ngo Ndoumbouk (Nancy/France), Therese Abena (Louves Minproff/Cameroon), Charlène Meyong Menene (Louves Minproff/Cameroon)

This squad combines experienced campaigners with talented newcomers, giving Cameroon a balanced and competitive team as they aim to make an impact in their second consecutive World Cup.
