France has withdrawn its candidacy to host Euro 2020, but it has announced its intention to bid for the 2019 Women’s World Cup. Noël Le Graët, the president of the French Football Federation, made this announcement on Friday. The French women’s national team is currently performing well, leading its qualifying group for the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada.
