The draw for the 2019 WAFU Zone B Women’s Nations Tournament was held on Tuesday, setting the stage for an exciting regional competition. Eight countries will compete, divided into two groups of four, with Ivory Coast, the host nation, and Nigeria, the strongest team in the zone, seeded at the top.
In Group A, the Elephants of Ivory Coast will face Togo, Senegal, and the defending champions, Ghana. Meanwhile, Group B will feature Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali.
The tournament will take place in Abidjan, following the same format as last year, running from May 8 to May 18. Teams are expected to showcase their best talent as they compete for regional supremacy in West African women’s football.
