The 2nd edition of the WAFU B Women’s Tournament kicks off this Wednesday at the Robert Champroux Stadium in Abidjan, with the host nation, Ivory Coast, taking on Togo in the opening match.
Despite facing challenges in preparation due to limited financial resources, the Elephants are determined to deliver a strong performance for their fans. Togo, meanwhile, is still developing after a difficult campaign last year and will look to gain valuable experience from this tournament.
In the second match of the day, Senegal faces off against defending champions Ghana. Mercy Tagoe, who returned to coach the Black Queens following the disappointment at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on home soil under Bashir Hayford, is focused on guiding her team to another regional title.
Match schedule:
- 4:00 PM: Ivory Coast vs. Togo
- 6:30 PM: Senegal vs. Ghana
The tournament promises competitive action as the teams battle for supremacy in West African women’s football.
