“It was difficult to have a tougher draw for Kenya. But we’ll know whether the draws are difficult or good later on. I think we’ll go into this competition without pressure. Playing Senegal, who are the number one African team in the FIFA rankings and former World Cup participants, won’t be easy,” Migné said, as reported by Galsen Foot.
Despite the strength of their opponents, Migné sees a positive side to facing top-ranked teams. “Playing Senegal and Algeria means that Kenya is back on the continental map. That’s pretty good,” he added, highlighting the opportunity for his team to showcase themselves against Africa’s elite sides.
Far from being intimidated, Migné is determined to lead Kenya to the next stage of the competition. “When you enter a competition, you don’t go to see the pyramids as a tourist. The idea is to get out of this group, knowing that there will be the four best third-place finishers,” he stressed, underlining his ambition to advance despite the tough draw.
