Nigeria has revealed its preparation schedule ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, which includes two key friendly matches.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr announced that the team will begin training in Asaba on June 2nd. As part of their build-up, Nigeria will face Zimbabwe in a friendly on June 8th before departing for Egypt.
The preparation will continue with a second friendly against Senegal on June 18 in Ismailia, allowing Rohr to test his squad against strong opposition before the tournament begins.
Having missed both the 2015 and 2017 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, Nigeria is aiming to make a strong return in Egypt. The Super Eagles have been drawn into Group B alongside Guinea, Madagascar, and another opponent, and they are looking to build momentum and cohesion during this preparatory period to advance deep into the tournament.
