Tunisia began their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations preparations on a high note, defeating Iraq 2-0 in Radès on Friday.
The Eagles set the tone early, with Wahbi Khazri opening the scoring in the 4th minute. Bassem Srarfi then doubled the lead in the 29th minute, delivering a decisive assist for Khazri’s second contribution.
The score remained unchanged until the final whistle, giving Alain Giresse’s squad a solid start to their AFCON preparations, just like Ivory Coast.
The match was played in front of a packed Stade de Radès, with fans admitted free of charge following a decision by the Tunisian Football Federation.
