After enjoying a well-earned break following his Champions League triumph with Liverpool, Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has returned to national team duty with the Pharaohs. The forward rejoined the squad on Wednesday, marking the start of Egypt’s preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The day was marked by a small celebration honoring Salah’s European success, highlighting his importance to both club and country. He is expected to feature, even if briefly, in Egypt’s friendly against Tanzania on Thursday at 7 p.m. GMT.
As the host nation, Egypt will kick off the tournament on June 21 against Zimbabwe in Cairo at 8 p.m. GMT, with Salah leading the Pharaohs in their quest for continental glory.
