Tunisia will likely reflect with some frustration after their opening match in Group E of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations ended in a 1-1 draw with Angola.
The Eagles of Carthage took the lead in the 34th minute when Youssef Msakni converted a penalty, giving Tunisia the advantage at halftime. However, the team’s sluggish performance in the second half allowed Angola to equalize in the 73rd minute through Djalma Compos, leaving Tunisia unable to secure all three points.
The draw represents a disappointing start for Tunisia, who will now need to bounce back in their next Group E match against Mali next Friday to remain in contention for the knockout stages.
