WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS: KENYA SHINES IN BEIJING, TOPS MEDAL TABLE
Kenya delivered a historic performance at the World Athletics Championships in Beijing, China, by finishing first in the medal standings. The East African nation secured a total of 16 medals, including an impressive 7 golds, asserting its dominance in middle and long-distance running events.
Jamaica, led by sprint legend Usain Bolt, took second place with 12 medals, also claiming 7 golds—mainly in sprint events.
Despite winning the highest number of medals overall (18), the United States finished third with 6 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze medals. Their balanced haul wasn’t enough to surpass the gold-heavy tallies of Kenya and Jamaica.
