Toulouse has been dealt a significant blow as coach Alain Casanova will be without the services of his defender Aymen Abdennour for the upcoming 13th day of Ligue 1 when Toulouse hosts Ajaccio next weekend.
Following his absence against Evian last week, the Tunisian international defender is expected to miss the upcoming match against the Corsican club as well. Abdennour has withdrawn from the game due to a knee injury, described as a gash in his left knee, and is likely to be replaced by the young Steeve Yago. The injury occurred during the last training session before the Evian match, resulting in bleeding and the need for crutches. The medical staff of the club has advised rest to allow the gash to heal.
This setback not only affects Toulouse but also raises concerns for the Tunisian national team, as Abdennour’s absence may extend to the World Cup qualifying return play-offs against Cameroon. With Alaeddine Yahia also facing uncertainties, Tunisia could potentially be without two key central defenders for the crucial match.
