The Senegalese authorities are reportedly committed to providing substantial support to the national football team, the Lions of Senegal, in their quest for qualification for the next World Cup. According to Souleymane Boune Daouda Diop, the director of high competition, in the event of a qualifying victory against the Ivory Coast, the players can expect a significant bonus from the State.
He mentioned that a budget of around 160 million FCFA (West African CFA francs) has been allocated for the match, including usual victory and draw bonuses. Additionally, an exceptional bonus will be granted in the case of qualification, and the amount will be determined through mutual agreement between the State and the football federation. The director emphasized the state’s readiness to make an exceptional sacrifice for the team’s success and expressed confidence in the Senegalese players’ ability to overcome the Ivorian obstacle.
