Kwesi Appiah Demands More Despite Ghana’s Convincing Win Over South Korea
Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah remains demanding despite his team’s emphatic 4-0 victory over South Korea in a friendly match on Monday night.
While the scoreline was impressive, Appiah emphasised that there is still significant work to be done ahead of the Black Stars’ upcoming fixtures.
“It was a good friendly match. It’s good, we won, but there’s still work to do,” the Ghanaian coach said.
For Appiah, the final result is secondary to the team’s preparation and tactical development.
“We made good use of the counterattacks we had. But the result doesn’t interest me. Yes, I look at the scoreboard, but I mainly focus on what is the best way to prepare my team,” he insisted.
The victory over South Korea will nonetheless provide a boost to Ghana’s morale as they gear up for a crucial World Cup group stage match against the United States on 16 June.
Appiah’s emphasis on preparation and continuous improvement reflects his determination to have the Black Stars perform at their best on football’s biggest stage.
