The Stallions of Burkina Faso showcased a dominant performance on Saturday, securing a convincing 4-0 victory against the Mena of Niger during the third day of the World Cup qualifiers for Brazil 2014 in Ouagadougou. Gernot Rhor’s team faced a formidable opponent in the unfortunate finalist of the last African Cup of Nations.
In a post-match press conference, Gernot Rohr, the coach of Niger, acknowledged the stark contrast in team strength and experience: “Today we saw a great team from Burkina Faso against a team under construction. We have rejuvenated our squad because our objective is not the World Cup but to rebuild the team in order to qualify for CAN 2015.”
