FIFA has reportedly rejected Burkina Faso’s appeal regarding the eligibility of Majid Bougherra in the qualifying match against Algeria on November 19. According to FIFA, “Algeria had not committed any irregularity,” and the formal conditions of Burkina Faso’s claim were not respected. This decision comes after Burkina Faso suspected Bougherra of being suspended for the match. Additionally, Burkina Faso’s appeal against referee Badara Diatta, accused of favoring Algeria, is not expected to succeed. The decision by FIFA will reassure Algeria’s President Mohamed Raouraoua, who dismissed any disqualification of the Fennecs.
