Algeria appears to have benefited from a favorable draw in the World Cup, as revealed on Friday in Costa do Sauipe, Brazil. Placed in Group H, the Fennecs are set to face Belgium, Russia, and South Korea. Their initial match is scheduled for June 17 against the Red Devils.
Following the draw, Fennecs captain Madjid Bougherra expressed his belief that the draw was relatively kind to Algeria when compared to some of the other challenging groups. He stated, “The draw is lenient compared to the other groups, but we will fight hard against Russia and Belgium.”
While the initial opponents seem within reach for the Fennecs, the competition could intensify in the knockout stage, with potential matchups against stronger teams like Germany or Portugal, as well as Ghana or the United States.
