The Algerian national team, known as the Fennecs, is gearing up for the upcoming World Cup with ambitions to surpass their performance from 2010. In pursuit of this goal, coach Vahid Halilhodzic is leaving no stone unturned.
According to Le Parisien, Halilhodzic, along with Hakim Chalabi, a former deputy medical director at Paris Saint-Germain and now part of Algeria’s medical team, has decided to enlist the services of Alain Simon. Simon, who previously served as the team doctor for France during the 2010 World Cup and has experience with PSG and INSEP, has been brought on board for the upcoming campaign.
This decision was readily accepted by Alain Simon, who had previously crossed paths with Halilhodzic during their time in Paris between 2003 and 2005.
Algeria recently concluded its first training camp with a victory over Slovenia (2-0) in a friendly match, setting a positive tone for their World Cup preparations.
