Algeria has found itself in what appears to be a manageable group for the second consecutive World Cup. Placed in Group H alongside Belgium, Russia, and South Korea, the Fennecs have the quality to compete effectively in this group. Their aim is clear: to advance to the second round for the first time in their history in their fourth World Cup appearance.
Madjid Bougherra, speaking in an interview with FIFA, outlined the team’s objectives, stating, “Our goal is to advance past the first round for the first time in our history. The people expect us to showcase the progress of Algerian football and to exhibit fair play. For some players, this will be their first major competition. It’s the responsibility of the experienced players to guide them, encourage them to give their all, and enjoy the experience.”
