In Group H alongside Belgium, Russia, and South Korea, Algeria aims to progress to the first round of the tournament. When discussing their preparation, Vahid Halilhodzic expressed confidence in the team he has been building over the past three years.
“We have several players who possess individual talent and could shine in Brazil, but we lack star names like Ivory Coast’s Drogba, Cameroon’s Eto’o, or Ghana’s Essien. Our strength lies in our collective effort,” remarked the Bosnian coach, displaying knowledge of their opponents.
“I’ve watched some matches involving our group rivals, and I can attest that they are formidable teams. South Korea, in particular, could surprise many, especially those who underestimate them. Belgium, meanwhile, is an outstanding team, among the best in Europe, but we will do everything to make an impact against them.”
Halilhodzic and his coaching staff are set to convene to finalize the team’s preparation program. The Fennecs are scheduled to depart Algiers for Brazil on June 7, gearing up for the challenge ahead.
